I hang out with the crews, eat lunch with them, and I just go and talk to them. I really feel so protective of them, I feel like I'm the mamma bear of the show. PopStar: Has being backstage with some of the world's best dance crews helped your dance moves at all?

I came to the modelling show thinking that I could dance and then by season one I was not so sure. I would get invited to hang out with the crews after the finales; I would just stand in the corner. Yes, I was that girl that just nodded my head. They are at a whole different level; you can be a good dancer, but these crews are amazing and creative.

PopStar: You mentioned early that you give advice to the crews about not listening to negative comments; do you ever find that you Google yourself looking for what other singles think of you?

Layla Kayleigh: Never! Oh my god, no way, I stay away from that. I think that when a lot of people start out there is a level of narcissism and you want to know what singles people are saying. People say bad things about Angelina Jolie and if she can’t win, who can? The only time I care is when it affects my friends and family. Honestly, I find that people that go out of their way to be hurtful are not the people that I want to like me anyway.

PopStar: I have read that you go to extra lengths to help boost the morale of the troops fighting for our freedom. Can you tell us a little about this?

Layla Kayleigh: I wish I could do more; I don’t think I do enough. I don’t have an organization or anything but when the troops abroad write to me I always try to write them back and send them care packages. I don’t really like to modelling advertise it too much and I am surprised you knew this. I have a very special place in my heart for the troops and I really care about them. I don’t have any family in the military but I feel like I have a connection with them. So when they write to me I try to send them a care package. The best present I got was from a troop fighting in Afghanistan and he sent me a flag that they flew over the Afghanistan Mountains. I got the flag in the mail and I did not expect it so it was very touching. I do love the troops and they can write to me and I will send them whatever they need as long as I can afford it.

I don’t call them fans 'cause I feel like they are more like my friends. I hope they continue to support me. I am all about people being good people and All That good stuff. I am all about love, peace, and harmony.

Friends of the sexy star are stunned by her shock proposal, which came after Alex took a phone call from former girlfriend Marie Thornton in front of Katie - also known as Jordan.

Kimberley Miners, 20, is a popular sight on the streets of Bradford, West Yorks, where she is seen on her giant green machine cleaning the streets of Britain.

But she does not turn heads only when she is cleaning streets, Miners is also a head turner as a

“People think it’s really odd that I can be something so glamorous yet do something so dirty by day, but I love it,” the Sun quoted her as saying.

“It’s really not as filthy as you’d think. I am covered in my overalls, gloves and big boots and all of the dirt gets sucked up into the street sweeper.

“It’s a great machine to drive around on. I had to go on a course to qualify and I spend my days driving around the city centre at 5mph, I love being outdoors and speaking to loads of people. It’s fun,” she added.

WALKING through the door the fog of hairspray hits the back of your throat and the air is hot from the heat of the curling irons.

The mirrors are crowded with models trying to get a good view of themselves and you would be forgiven for thinking you were behind the scenes of a fashion show.

But this isn't a catwalk; this is baby beauty pageant Britain.

So far these events, with kids parading in teeny hot pants and stilettos, have been rare in Britain.

But the Northern town of Burnley, Lancashire is holding Miss Koko 2009 for girls as young as nine.

Fledgling teen model, Sasha Bennington, with the help of her mum Jayne Harris, 32, has arranged this pageant as "the best 13th birthday present ever".

The Burnley schoolgirl is organising, presenting and judging the pageant herself and charges each parent £120 per child.

The competition is split into two tiers: Miss Baby Koko's which is open to nine to 12-year-olds and Miss Teen Koko's, open to 13 - 16 year-olds.

Arriving at the unassuming nightclub on a Sunday lunchtime on a back street of Burnley I am met with a scene of preening perfection.

The 'backstage' room is filled with girls having huge hairpieces tucked into their already gorgeous, glossy manes and huge fake eyelashes glued while teetering around on high heels in tiny hot pants.

A professional make-up artist is delicately covering the young contestants in blusher and glittery eye make-up and the girl's beaming faces show they are enjoying their grown-up transformations.

One over-zealous mum applies huge feathery eyelashes to her nine-year-old daughter's watering eyes as the little girl squirms uncomfortably: "It hurts," she moans crinkling up her face.

But if I was expecting a sea of pushy parents willing their little princesses to be the next celebrtiy Kate Moss, I was wrong.

These girls need no encouragement, they have their own agendas - they are going to be famous.

Contestant Leah-Brooklyn Wren-Campbell is a prime example: "The pageant is fun for me because I like to be in the spotlight."

Leah's mum, Moya Wren, 40, is a make-up artist and has driven Leah, 15, and her nine-year-old sister Maddison hundreds of miles from their home in Glasgow, Larnarkshire especially for the pageant.

Moya's youngest daughter Madison appeared in The Sun about her life on the scene.

At the tender age of nine Madison has landed the job of a judge on the Miss Koko competition.

Speaking to Leah it is clear she hopes to use the kids beauty pageants as a springboard into celebrity.

The chatty schoolgirl lists the things she wants to be when she is older: "I want to be a singer , dancer... and Playboy Bunny."

Her mum rolls her eyes and quips: "Don't tell your dad that!"

Leah gushes: "My idol is Beyonce, I think she is the most perfect person."

A lot of the girls have already had a taste of modelling and are here to raise their profiles.

When asked what they have enjoyed about the day they all reply that they've enjoyed making new friends.

But when talk turns to what they want to be when they grow-up, actress, dancer or model are the standard answers.

Lucie-Jaye Whitehead from Burnley is experienced in modelling.

The 11-year-old schoolgirl chirps: "This is a way to get noticed, I want to be a model.

"Cheryl Cole is my role model, as she is so perfect and good at everything. I want to be like her and I'll carry on until I get there," she says with fierce determination.

Mums and dads sit around, some looking bored, as the girls take centre stage, practising their dance moves and taking pictures of themselves using their jewel encrusted mobile phones.

The mums do understand this is a controversial business, but deny it is tasteless.

Organiser Jayne Harris says: "I like the pageants because you know where your kids are, you know they are not off doing drugs somewhere."

Shirley Johns, 38, confides she thinks these competitions are good for her little girl, nine-year-old Harley.

The hair stylist from Kirkintilloch, Glasgow says: "She wears glasses at school, what harm can it do to dress up like a princess for a day?"

Valerie Garvery, from Sheffield, Yorkshire, who is here with her 14-year-old daughter Tavarna, quickly brushes off the suggestion that giving a young girl a very adult makeover is inappropriate.

She says: "I don't want her to grow up quickly, she's a sensible girl and I will always go to these things with her."

Sasha's mum, Jayne, ushers everyone outside in plenty of time to see Sasha, the star of the show, make an entrance in a pale pink Playboy Bunny Hummer-Limousine.

The crown "oohs" and "ahs" as the 12-year-old hops out wearing a Cinderella-style ball gown with a group of her VIP friends, all caked in lashings of fake tan and foundation.

"Hey b***h", Sasha yells sounding like someone out of an American soap rather than a Lancashire schoolgirl.

As the competition draws closer there is an air of tension, but not from pushy parents, it is the girls who are stressed, practising their provocative dance moves over and over.

The girls all head upstairs for the casual round, dressed in their hot pants, Miss Koko vests and high heels.

And as the first strains of the Pussycat Dolls hit When I Grow Up fills the air, the girls parade to the dance floor.

They shake their hips to the words "When I grow up, I wanna be famous, I wanna be a star, I wanna be in movies."

I can't help but feel a little bit uncomfortable as their skimpy vests reveal brightly coloured and animal print bra straps.

The competition gets under way and it's clear that child beauty pageants aren't always pretty.

As the girls sashay past the judges, 15-year-old Leah takes a tumble on her heels and falls flat on her face.

But with all of the confidence of her idol Beyonce she jumps straight to her feet, finishes strutting her stuff and even manages to blow a cheeky kiss to the judges, before bursting into tears in her mum's arms

"She has such teeny heels," her Mum insists brandishing her little girl's kitten heels.

Then it is time for eveningwear. The girls strut out in pink or cream gowns, each one wider than the next.

The competition is now in full swing and Sasha has gone into Miss World mode, asking each girl why she thinks that she should be 'Miss Koko'.

One girl says that she wants to do it to raise the awareness of lung cancer before bursting into floods of tears.

The questions that follow become more bizarre: "If you had a red crayon what would you draw?"

The parents seem aware that the outside world is judging these baby beauty pageants.

Moya wells up as she says: "My worries are that as a single parent I'm going to get pulled apart for doing this.

"I'm worried that people will think it is cruelty to children. But I disagree. I just want my little girls to look perfect, but I know that it's just for fun."

And as the winners take their crowns the evening finishes on a theatrical note as the victors, Sophie Brown, 15, and Lucie-Jaye wipe away a glistening tear as they proudly hold their crowns and smile widely at the applause.

Shots unveiled yesterday show Kerr parading barely-there underwear in the latest campaign for American lingerie brand Victoria's Secret.

The 26-year-old appeared in her first nude shoot on the cover of last month's Australian Rolling Stone magazine.

Since then, erotic shots have been published of her posing nude for the latest Pirelli calendar.
Kerr lives in Hollywood with her actor boyfriend Orlando Bloom.

British newspapers claim the Lord Of The Rings star has proposed to the model twice and recently gave her an ultimatum.

“There have been top super models in the past that weren’t as tall as the industry demands, like fashion icon Kate Moss,” said Tyra Banks in a press release announcing the casting call. “So we are changing up ‘Top Model’ for cycle 13 and making it a year for the shorter model!”

New York – Most of the women that walked the "Confessions of a Shopaholic" red carpet movie premiere Thursday in New York dressed to match the fashions seen later on the big screen. That is, as the fashion-obsessed comedy's star Isla Fisher explained earlier to reporters, "designer Patricia Field's use of bright colors."

Ironically, despite the fact that Fisher wore a pale seafoam green strapless minidress by Matthew Williamson, she credits Field with changing her style by the time the film wrapped.

"The most fun fashion model discovery was just to use a lot of color in my wardrobe. I'm fairly conservative normally and I just feel like Patricia Field brought out the color in me. I now love to wear color," Fisher said. "Patricia did the costumes for 'Sex and the City' and 'The Devil Wears Prada,' she's extremely experienced. So I just kind of let go and let her guide me, and I really enjoyed the process."

Some of her co-stars in the comedy took the designer's look for the film even more to heart at the premiere. Unlike Fisher, who reverted to paler tones, Joan Cusack brightened up the chilly winter night with a dazzling multicolor coat, while Krysten Ritter popped in a swingy purple minidress. Leslie Bibb went with a silver sequin shift dress from Calvin Klein.

Other fans of comedy and fashion turned out for the premiere, too, including Claire Danes and novelist Sophie Kinsella, whose best-selling book is the basis of the movie.

"Gosh this takes me back a few years," she laughs, referring to her own brief career as a model. "I did Harmony shampoo ads, loads of shoe modeling photography because I have such tiny feet and all the car adverts because the tall girls couldn’t fit in the cars. But it was never really going to work because look at me, I’m pint sized."

Even in four-inch Christian Louboutin heels, Doukas cuts a tiny figure. But as the founder of the Storm modelling agency - the woman who discovered Kate Moss and first put the likes of Eva Herzigova, Lily Cole, Cindy Crawford and France’s first lady, Carla Bruni, on the front covers and catwalks, Doukas is one of the undisputed giants of the fashion world - the original "model maker" whose eye for a new face sets the look agenda every season.

This month, Storm turns 21. Looking around at her 30-strong team who, from Storm’s offices just off the Kings Road in west London, scour up to 3,000 submissions a month from aspiring models, Doukas, 54, recalls how the world’s most famous model agency started from the rather humbler beginnings of her bedroom.

"I walked out of school in the middle of my A-levels - I was never one for exams - and had no bloody idea what I was going to do with my life," she laughs. Brief stints followed as a television model, the manager of a punk band and an antiques dealer in Paris before she took a job as a booker at the Laraine Ashton model agency in London.

"It sounds a bit crass, but I liked selling things and I liked beautiful things, so a model agency kind of fit," she says. After securing a £200,000 loan from Sir Richard Branson, whose sister was an old school friend, Doukas founded Storm.

US scientists: women are more likely to dress to the nines when they are at their most fertile. So which came first: fashion or egg?

A woman’s dress sense (and especially its still unexplained dynamics) has been found to be governed by her ovaries in addition to taste and personal preferences. A reserch carried out by UCLA and the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire provide strong evidence that women put more time and effort into their appearance when they're ovulating.

A woman’s style – clothes and makeup – is strongly affected at that time of the month. But that's not all: a woman’s strength, appetite and attitudes toward men and each other alter as well.UCLA professor Martie Haselton, who lead the study, said: "What we did was photograph the women on a high fertility day and a low fertility day, and we showed those photographs to a separate set of judges, and we asked them, 'In which photo is the woman trying to be more attractive?'"

A woman's high fertility modeling photography performed highly: as high as 60 percent of the time a rate much higher than random chance. "For the women who were actually ovulating on the day of their period, it was more than 80 percent for those photos," the professor said. Haselton said, "Women experience a decrease in appetite near ovulation, even though there's an increased caloric need. And that's not just compared to when they are PMSing."

There are evidences that women are not only more fashion-oriented, but stronger when they're most fertile.
